Penfield Recreation is pleased to announce “Rollin’ Into Summer”, a new event for families to kick off the summer season. Rollin’ Into Summer is scheduled for Friday, June 9, 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Rothfuss Park, 1648 Five Mile Line Road, Penfield. This event is free and open to the public.

Penfield Recreation will help get your ride ready for summer and kick off your family riding season—bikes, scooters, skateboards, and Rollerblades! Join us for a Bike Rodeo for young bike enthusiasts with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

“Penfield and Monroe County have great places for biking and riding,” said Rob Quinn, Penfield town councilman and public safety liaison. “According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Americans are increasingly biking to work, for exercise, and for recreation.  As the father of three young children, we love riding in the neighborhoods around Penfield, and we always see countless other families and bikers doing the same. This event is an important refresher for families and enthusiasts alike on staying safe and following the law while riding.”

Rochester Fitness and Cycling will offer free bike inspections along with helmet fittings and a few bike demonstrations.

Pick up your Pen Rec Cycling Log at the event and keep track of your rides and miles over the 2017 season. At the end of September bring your Cycling Log to Penfield Recreation and be entered into drawings for great prizes! Cycling logs handed out at the “Rollin’ Into Summer” event will be entered into a special drawing.

Enjoy DJ music and a bounce house, as well as food for purchase from the Pen Rec Food Cart, or bring a picnic!

This event is sponsored by Penfield Recreation, Wegmans, and Rochester Fitness and Cycling. For more information, please call Penfield Recreation at (585) 340-8655.
